With all the talk about hijab and modesty it’s easy for muslimahs to forget that they have to look good beneath it all. Whilst we all enjoy comfort clothes like that baggy sweater, the ragged jeans, the house dress, or the frumpy t-shirt….these clothing items aren’t exactly appealing; they’re an eyesore!
One of the most horrible things is; when people stare. It makes you conscious of your appearance, and it makes you uncomfortable. For sisters, it can make them feel violated and abused.
“Men are the protectors and maintainers of women… “(Surah Nisa 04:34)
Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful has given such monumental authority to the men of this ummah, because He knows the capability of men and their suitability for such a major task.
Bedraggled at home, while beauty fashionistas outside! Isn’t that just the common pattern that we women now follow. When I look at the women around, at home the official dress code usually happens to be their oldest maxis whilst their wardrobe narrate tales of exquisite clothes packed up in boxes for ages to lapse.
