I had an easy childhood. A happy child I was alhamdulillah. When I was in my 10th standard, (15 years of age), I made my first muslim friend- Zinobia. She was everything I thought a muslim would never be- soft spoken, kind, patient, emotional, sophisticated and humorous. SubhanAllah.
Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful has blessed all mankind with the perfect and complete religion and the best way of life, Islam. He has sent down His Qur’an as His Book of Divine Guidance and has chosen Prophet Muhammad (Saw) as His Messenger and the best example to all humanity.
Sitting in a classroom trying to defend your deen is not the easiest. Many students who attend non-muslim schools, even if the school is in a muslim country, can find it a challenge to explain their deen to their peers, and sometimes even teachers.
One of the worst calamities faced by the Muslim ummah was in 1258, when Genghis Khan’s grandson, Hulagu Khan and his people ravaged through the city of Baghdad, committing numerous atrocities and massacring the Muslims, where they made the Muslim blood lawful, until they drenched the city in it.
Some of us, are unfortunately not gifted with the ability to naturally give da’wah. The words will not flow from our tongues, nor will we think fast enough to grab the opportunity before us.
If we were given a beautiful gift like a pair of diamond earrings or a brand new luxury sports car, by default, we would like to show the world what we have. When there is something given to us, normally we do not just keep it hidden and stored away from others so nobody can see it! We want to share with people and show them the beauty of what we own!
