It would appear to the naked eye that women in Islam have no rights. Shrouded in the hijab, and often covering their faces, many believe that muslim women are masked in this uniform all day long. While muslim men, can dress as they please. ‘See the inequality’; they would say.
Muhammad (peace be upon him) is regarded by muslims as the last and final messenger sent by Allah to mankind. He came as a seal of the prophets who were sent before him, and was the concluding messenger to mankind.
There are some misconceptions that have been spread about women and their rights in Islam. These misconceptions were not meant for individual women themselves, but rather as an attack on Islam in particular. People who raise such misconceptions aim mainly to distort the beautiful picture of women in Islam. Women, throughout the past fourteen centuries of Islam, have been honoured, respected, cherished and dignified. One of the misconceptions raised about women in Islam, is the issue of polygamy.
The Qur’an. What can I say about it? Some, would say it’s the biblical equivalent for the muslims. In some respect, perhaps it is, in the sense that it’s the holy book of guidance for the muslims as the bible is for the Christians. However, the bible and Qur’an are very different, in numerous ways.
Islam encourages terrorism
A terrorist is one who favours or uses terror-inspiring methods of governing or of coercing government or community. (The Concise oxford Dictionary)
Many people are of the opinion that Muslims disregard Jesus, as he is a symbol of Christianity. However, the opposite is truer than can be explained. With Easter coming up, this issue needs to be set aright!
